Cystic Fibrosis Foundation - Indiana Chapter
"Adding Tomorrows Everyday"
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is committed to finding new therapies and ultimately a cure for CF.
Cystic
fibrosis is a life-threatening genetic disease that affects the lungs
and digestive system of approximately 30,000 children and adults in the
United States.
More than 10 million Americans are unknowing, symptomless carriers of a defective CF gene.
MISSION STATEMENT:
The mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a nonprofit
donor-supported organization, is to assure the development of the means
to cure and control cystic fibrosis and to improve the quality of life
for those with the disease.
PURPOSE:
The Foundation has played an integral role in the development and FDA
approval of four therapies that are now a routine part of treatment
regimens for many with CF. The Foundation is actively supporting approximately 30 potential new treatments currently in development—that's
more than in the entire history of the disease. Our challenge is to
find enough patients to join clinical trials to keep the research moving
forward.
HOW CAN YOU HELP:
Volunteers are the key to our success, and we encourage you to get
involved! Whether you join a committee and help get sponsors for an
event, recruit companies to put together walk teams or volunteer time in
our office, you help us achieve our mission—curing and controlling
cystic fibrosis. Take a moment to see what a difference you can make by
supporting events throughout the year. Together, we can continue adding tomorrows every day to the lives of people with CF.
